A 1581 Geneva Bible open to a canticle, Veni Creator:

Come holy ghost, eternall God proceeding from above
Both from the Father and the Sonne
the God of peace and love,
Lifte our mynds, and into us thy heavenly grace insytre [insert?]: That in all truth and godlynes we may have true desire.

The Geneva Bible is also called the “Breeches Bible” because of an unusal translation of part of the Book of Genesis, in which Adam and Eve, on understanding that they were naked, sewed breeches (trousers) out of fig leaves, a much more ambitious sewing project than the more usual translation of loin cloths.
