Ivy-covered walls of stone, and a monument to victims of the religious fanaticism of the 16th century, built in 1843 and designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The three martyrs burned to death were Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop, in 1556, together with two bishops, Hugh Latimer and Nicholas Ridley in 1555.
