Holyland Model of Ancient Jerusalem 2
A closer view of the map.
Holyland Model of Ancient Jerusalem 2
Another view.
This is the building (a chapel?) marked C on the map.
The moss-covered ceramic (brick) roof tiles alternate between flat and curved.
From the side you see only the curved (arched) roof tiles.
Old brick steps with stone walls on eithr side, and metal hand-rail, lead into the woods. Or to another part of the monastery.
The steps lead up to a 16th century papist shrine.
Our hosts on the trip.
With the late afternoon sun shining through it.
